February 15, 2004 – Wall, NJ – BIO-key International Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), a leader in finger-based biometric identification and wireless public safety solutions announced today that the company is showcasing its fingerprint biometrics products at the 2005 RSA Conference, the most prestigious information security event of the year, from Feb 15th through 17th in the Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco. BIO-key will provide hands-on product demonstrations of its state-of-the-art identification technology in booth 103.
BIO-key will feature WEB-key, a cost effective, easy to deploy, fingerprint based strong authentication system. This unique solution allows users to positively identify themselves into any application with the simple scan of their finger. When used in conjunction with a token, BIO-key’s fingerprint authentication replaces less secure, usernames, passwords or PINs, providing a simple way for users to add True User IdentificationTM to any critical transaction. This capability is a significant improvement in both convenience and security over other alternatives and provides companies with the tools needed to thwart phishing attacks and comply with government regulations and legislation such as HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, and the Electronic Signatures Act.
The convenience that BIO-key’s technology offers will be displayed in a wide range of demonstrations, where with the simple registration of a person’s fingerprint, that person can be positively identified, illustrating that no matter when or where someone registers, they can be identified without providing additional information such as a name, badge ID, or other personal information.
In addition to the WEB-key product, BIO-key has developed an advanced fingerprint-indexing tool which uses a fingerprint as the primary identifier of a unique record in the database. “We are proud to have developed the worlds most accurate and scalable fingerprint indexing technology and we are seeing strong demand for our solutions, with a wide range of partners and customers deploying our systems.” said Ken Souza, CTO of BIO-key International. WEB-key can be easily integrated to replace or augment existing authentication schemes for virtually any stand alone or network based applications including mobile and wireless access. BIO-key technology is currently deployed in the financial services, healthcare, education and government markets.
