BIO-key® Awarded Contracts in Conjunction with DaProSystems to Provide Mobile Data to Virginia Sheriff’s Departments
The Charlotte and King George Sheriff’s Offices are the latest departments to choose BIO-key’s MobileCop™ offering to increase efficiency
Wall, N.J. –June 1, 2006 - BIO-key International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), a leader in finger-based biometric identification and wireless public safety solutions, announced today that, through its partner DaProSystems of Roanoke, Virginia, it has been awarded contracts by two Virginia counties to provide mobile data connectivity. BIO-key continues to increase its visibility across the country and with multiple departments in an area choosing our solutions.
Over the last several years, the increasing demand for communications with deputies in the field has placed a burden on the time of the dispatchers. BIO-key’s MobileCop solution enables the field agents to more quickly get the same information they would receive from the dispatchers and frees up the dispatchers’ time to better handle other mission critical tasks. The deputies will also have access to their agency’s dispatch and records information, mobile messaging and other state-of-the-art features.
According to King George Project Director Captain Steve Dempsey, “We look forward to providing data services to our deputies, giving them this tool to be more efficient and effective.” Charlotte County E-911 Coordinator Lisa Myers echoed this desired result and added, “This technology will also let us use automatic vehicle location technology to ensure that the closest unit is sent to every call for service.”
“Time and again, the MobileCop solution has been shown to provide critical information in real-time to law enforcement agents in the field, increasing their efficiency and making them safer. The addition of automatic vehicle location, ensuring the fastest response to service calls, helps to increase the public’s safety as well,” said Ken Souza, BIO-key’s general manager for Law Enforcement.
“DaProSystems is honored to continue the successful partnership we have established with BIO-key. Our clients are pleased with the seamless integration of the MobileCop system with DaProSystems’ Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS) solutions. Our partnership continues to enable agencies to increase officer safety and effectiveness while maximizing the return on investment in their DaProSystems Public Safety software,” said Jeff Lewis, DaProSystems’ Manager of Sales & Marketing.
