BIO-key® and DaProSystems Awarded Contract from Regional Data Sharing Initiative to Supply Mobile Data
The ACES Regional Data Sharing Initiative is the latest Public Safety Regional Committee to choose BIO-key’s MobileCop™ offering to share essential information.
Wall, NJ – September 5, 2006 - BIO-key International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), a leader in wireless public safety solutions and finger-based biometric identification, and its partner, DaProSystems of Roanoke, Virginia, announced today that they have been awarded a contract from the ACES Regional Data Sharing Initiative led by New Kent County, Virginia.
Over the last several years, the ACES Regional Data Sharing initiative has enabled area law enforcement agencies to replace outdated hardware and equipment, deploy web-based regional data sharing software and implement a state-of-the-art Crime Analysis solution. Under the provisions of this contract, New Kent County and King William County, two of the four participating agencies in the initiative, will be able to update or add CAD/RMS and Mobile Data Services for field access to local, regional, state and national databases.
According to New Kent County Chief Deputy and Project Director Joe McLaughlin, “The ACES Regional Data Sharing program has increased our interagency communication and improved our departmental effectiveness. The next logical component of the project was the addition of mobile data access to our regional network. DaProSystems and BIO-key were the obvious choice as together they offer seamless integration, multiple platforms and devices for data access.”
Sheriff J. S. “Jeff” Walton of King William County added, “Our department is eager to deploy the mobile data solution. The field access to essential information will serve as a valuable tool for increasing officer safety and improving our agency’s efficiency. Furthermore, the ability to share costs regionally made this solution affordable for the project’s participants.”
